Fourth Place Finish in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Led by Evan Davis' runner-up finish, the Belmont men's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor held this weekend in Savannah, Georgia.

The Bruins posted a score of 298 (+10) in Sunday's final round to finish in a tie with Bethune-Cookman for fourth place at 880.  They finished eight shots behind team champion USC Beaufort.  Austin Peay was second at 874, while North Dakota State placed third at 875.  It was the team's second top-five finish of the season. 

Sophomore Evan Davis led the Bruins as he finished in second place at 213.  Davis, who held the lead after 36 holes, carded a two-over par 74 on Sunday, to finish one shot behind the medalist, Brian Peccie of Washington and Lee (212).  His runner-up finish was a career-best and his second top-10 finish of the 2018-19 campaign. 

Two other Bruins finished among the top-30.  Senior Daniel Booker tied for 23^rd place at 221 after shooting a 75 in the final round.  Sophomore Jack Uselton finished one shot back of Booker in a tie for 26^th place at 222.  He also carded a 75 on Sunday. 

Senior Parker Buck and sophomore Bogle LaRue each tied for 77^th place at 236.

The men's golf team has a few weeks off before returning to competition on March 8-10 at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
