FLORENCE, Ala. – The Belmont men's golf team posted the low round of the day on Tuesday to finish runner-up at the UNA Spring Classic held this week at Turtle Point Country Club in Florence, Alabama.
Belmont carded a 294 on Tuesday, the lowest team score of the final round, to move up to second place with a 54-hole mark of 870. They finished eight shots behind the team champion, host North Alabama (862). It marked the team's third top-five finish of the 2018-19 season.
Three Bruins finished among the top-10. Senior Noah Trenkler finished in a tie for third place at 215. He finished seven shots behind individual medalist, Aaron Jackson of North Alabama (208). It was the third top-five finish for the Hendersonville, Tennessee native this season. For his efforts, he was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Fellow senior Daniel Booker and sophomore Evan Davis tied for 10th place with a mark of 219. Booker shot a 75 in the final round, while Davis carded a one under par 71. It was Daniel's third top-10 finish of season and Evan's third straight top-10 finish this spring.
Sophomore Jack Uselton just missed a top-20 finish as he tied for 21st place at 222, while fellow sophomore Bogle LaRue tied for 37th place at 226.
The men's golf team has a short break before returning to competition next Monday and Tuesday, April 1-2, at the Wofford Intercollegiate in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
