NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team hopes to maintain their momentum from their play this spring as they compete for a conference title at the OVC Championship held this Sunday-Tuesday on the Fighting Joe Course at the RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
At last year's championship on this same layout, the Bruins finished in a tie for third place behind champion Jacksonville State and second place Eastern Kentucky. Jack Uselton earned Co-Medalist honors and earned a spot on the All-Tournament with teammate Evan Davis.
Belmont enters this year's championship on a roll. They have three top-five finishes this spring, including a second place showing at the UNA Spring Classic last month. Senior Daniel Booker leads the team with a 72.6 scoring average and three top-10 finishes. Sophomore Evan Davis is right behind with a 73.2 average and three top-10 finishes this spring.
This year's OVC Championship, held for the sixth consecutive year on the Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals, is a three-day, 54-hole event with 18 holes contested each day. The course will play to a par 72 and a length of 7,258 yards.
First round play will begin Sunday morning at 8:00am. Belmont's five golfers will tee off from 10:30-11:10am from the first tee.
