Brock Kiper Snags MVC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Redshirt Junior Forward Recorded Bruins’ First Brace of the Season at Bradley

ST. LOUIS – For the second time this season, a Belmont University men's soccer player has been selected as Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon, redshirt junior forward Brock Kiper has been named MVC Player of the Week for the second time in his career.

The Mason, Ohio (Archbishop Moeller HS), native earned the Bruins' first brace of the season last Friday night in Peoria, Illinois, in Belmont's dominant, 5-0 rout of Bradley University. He did so in only 39 minutes of action on the pitch.

Entering the match off the bench in the 30th minute, it took Kiper only 11 seconds before finding the back of the net. A little less than two minutes later, Kiper assisted on the Bruins' second goal as he found freshman midfielder Nzuhri Biggar.

Kiper struck again in the 66th minute, punching in Belmont's fourth goal of the night off an entry from sophomore midfielder Emmanuel Aranda.

Totaling five points for the match, Kiper scored his team-leading fifth and sixth goals of the season. His assist on Biggar's goal was his third of the season, giving him a team-best 15 points on the year.

Kiper's brace was the first by a Bruin since midfielder AJ Chastonay ('24) led Belmont past Northern Kentucky (2-1) on Aug. 29 last year.

With 14 career goals, Kiper tied Carlos Macioch (1997-01) for the fifth-most goals in program history. The two are tied for eighth on the Bruins' all-time goals list.

Kiper also earned MVC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Aug. 29, 2023.

Freshman midfielder Paul Claes Nielsen was also tabbed MVC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23 after his four-point week in road shutouts at Southern Indiana and rival Lipscomb.

With its sixth road shutout of the season this past Friday, Belmont secured a berth in the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference Championship. The Bruins will vie for a top-four seed Wednesday evening at E.S. Rose Park when they host the University of Evansville, who clinched at least a share of the MVC regular season title Friday. Kickoff from the Music City is set for 6 p.m.

The 2025 MVC Championship kicks off with first-round matches Sunday afternoon, while the semifinals are set for next Wednesday, Nov. 12. Each round of the six-team tournament is hosted by the higher seed.
