NEW YORK – For the second consecutive year, the Belmont University men's soccer team has two players deemed eligible for the MLS SuperDraft. Both seniors
Riley Clothier and
Brad Dildy have been named to the MLS SuperDraft 2026 eligible list as announced by Major League Soccer Wednesday morning.
Â
The 2026 MLS SuperDraft is set for Thursday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET. Round-by-round coverage can be found on
MLSsoccer.com.
Â
Comprised of 436 players representing 150 schools, the MLS SuperDraft 2026 eligible list ranks Clothier 87th and Dildy 109th, both as defenders. Last year, Dildy was 117th on the MLS SuperDraft 2025 eligible list as a left back.
Â
With Clothier and Dildy, the Bruins were one of the top defensive teams in the nation this past fall. Belmont's 13 goals conceded tied for the fifth-fewest in the country, while the Bruins' 0.765 goals against average was 18th-best nationally. Allowing multiple goals only twice the entire season, Belmont secured six road shutouts.
Â
A native of Murfreesboro (Oakland HS), Clothier was selected to the 2025 All-Missouri Valley Conference Second Team and started all 17 matches on the Bruins' back line. In fact, Clothier played the full 90 minutes in all but one match his final collegiate season. He scored his first career goal in Belmont's 1-1 home draw with Bellarmine, putting the Bruins up in the 61st minute. Clothier also assisted on a goal in Belmont's 3-0 road rout of Southern Indiana.
Â
Finishing his career with 5,001 minutes of action on the pitch, Clothier ranks fourth all-time in program history in minutes played.
Â
A San Antonio FC MLS NEXT Academy product, Dildy hails from San Antonio, Texas (Smithson Valley HS), and became the first Bruin to land a spot on the All-MVC First Team along with fellow captain
Dylan Steely. Also earning 2025 MVC All-Tournament Team honors, Dildy scored a pair of goals and assisted on a trio of others this fall while placing eight of his 16 shots on target.
Â
Playing in all 34 of Belmont's matches the last two seasons, Dildy started all but one and totaled six assists. He closed his collegiate career with 24 points, recording 16 assists and finding the back of the net four times.
