Women's Soccer Wins in Dominating Fashion for Senior Day

Four Different Goal Scorers for the Bruins

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont women's soccer delivered a commanding performance Sunday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park, earning a 4-1 victory over the University of Northern Iowa in Missouri Valley Conference play.

The Bruins wasted no time seizing control, striking three times in the opening 21 minutes. Kennedy Wise opened the scoring in the 5th minute, finishing off a setup from Olivia Walker. Reagan Ross doubled the lead in the 18th minute with help from Laken Whittington, before the duo reversed roles just two minutes later, as Whittington netted Belmont's third.

After halftime, the Bruins extended their advantage to 4-0 when defender Eliza Paisley found the back of the net in the 55th minute off an assist from Sami Bird. UNI's Macy Smith pulled one back in the 60th minute, but the Panthers were unable to mount a comeback.

Belmont outshot UNI 10-4, including a 7-3 edge in shots on goal, while also earning five corner kicks to the Panthers' one. Graduate goalkeeper Sydney Jones anchored the defense with two saves in the full 90 minutes.

Belmont scored the most goals in this match since beating Valparaiso last October, 4-0.

With the result, Belmont improves to 3-3-5 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play, while UNI falls to 3-4-3 and 0-1-2 in the Valley.
