NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont Baseball had five student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the 2026 season.
Graduate students Landon Godsey, Michael Lareau, and Brooks McDonnough, along with sophomores Jake Maddox and Cavan McMeans, earned the prestigious distinction for their combination of academic excellence and athletic performance during the 2026 season.
Godsey, a graduate student pursuing Applied Analytics, posted a 3.57 undergraduate GPA while maintaining a 3.5 GPA in graduate studies. The veteran right-hander continued to exemplify the balance between academic commitment and athletic achievement throughout his collegiate career.
Lareau, who is enrolled in Belmont's Accelerated MBA program, earned a 3.7 undergraduate GPA and carries a 3.5 graduate GPA. A leader both on and off the field, Lareau's recognition highlights his dedication to excellence in the classroom while competing at a high level for the Bruins.
McDonnough, also pursuing an Accelerated MBA, earned Academic All-District honors after compiling a perfect 4.0 undergraduate GPA and maintaining a 4.0 graduate GPA. His achievement reflects a remarkable commitment to academic success throughout his collegiate and graduate studies.
Sophomore Jake Maddox, a Business Systems & Analytics major, earned the honor with an impressive 3.9557 GPA. Maddox has established himself as one of Belmont's top student-athletes, excelling academically while continuing to contribute to the Bruins' success on the diamond.
McMeans, a sophomore majoring in Business Administration, secured Academic All-District recognition with a 3.7042 GPA. His accomplishment demonstrates the dedication required to thrive in both the classroom and collegiate athletics.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. Nominees must meet high academic standards while also making significant contributions to their respective programs.
