Ryley McClaran joins the Belmont Basketball program in 2025-26 as a graduate assistant.
McClaran will focus on practice plan execution, video breakdown through Synergy Sports, player development, game preparation and a variety of other coaching staff needs.
A native of Eagleville, Tennessee, McClaran was a four-year letterwinner at Freed-Hardeman University. The guard scored 1,198 career points, including 207 3-point field goals while shooting 39 percent from long distance.
McClaran was a part of 121 victories in four seasons at Freed-Hardeman, including two NAIA Final Fours and the 2024 NAIA National Championship.
McClaran was named 2020 TSSAA Class A Tennessee Mr. Basketball, where he averaged 30 points, six rebounds and three assists per game while shooting 60 percent from the field and 47 percent from 3-point range. He became the first Tenneseee Mr. Basketball recipient in Rutherford County history and led Eagleville to 80 victories.
McClaran earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
He is enrolled in graduate school at Belmont.
