JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Capping her historic career, Belmont University graduate thrower
Rebekah Stucker nearly advanced to the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships finals in Eugene, Oregon, with a strong performance in the hammer throw Thursday morning at the NCAA East First Round in Jacksonville, Florida. Stucker finished 16th among a highly-competitive field of 48, missing the top-12 qualifying list by only four spots.
One of just 18 to surpass 60 meters Thursday at Hodges Stadium, Stucker threw for 199 feet (60.66m) on her third and final attempt. The Odessa, Missouri (Odessa HS), native also came within a hair of 60 meters on her second throw.
Through the first three flights of the hammer throw, Stucker was in fifth place.
A six-time conference champion, Stucker earned 13 total medals between the Missouri Valley Conference and Ohio Valley Conference. She also qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships East First Round twice, including in both the hammer and discuss last spring.
Fellow thrower
Logan Gray competes in the shot put Friday morning. Originally scheduled for Thursday evening, the shot put competition will get underway at 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET. The event had to be postponed due to thunderstorms in Jacksonville Thursday. Gray is in the third flight.
