AZUSA, Calif. - - Belmont University women's track & field turned in sensational performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational April 16-17, hosted by Azusa Pacific University.

In one of the premier national meets of the outdoor season, the Bruins had four distance runners deliver in the Sunshine State.

Grace Litzinger broke her own school record in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:18.20. Litzinger is the Missouri Valley Conference leader by nearly 30 seconds and ranks among the top event performers in the NCAA east region.

Brooke Garter set a personal record by 22 seconds in the 5000m. Her dazzling time of 16:03.55 in the open A heat 4 was good for second place and within an eyelash of a school record.

Brooke Stromsland also bested her personal record in the 5000m by 11 seconds. Her standard of 16:41.50 in the open A heat 1 placed ninth.

Lilie Fouts competed in the open B race and posted a time of 17:21.70.

Belmont returns to action April 18-19 in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
