KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University women's track & field had two student-athletes take part in the Tennessee Invite this past weekend at the University of Tennessee.
Senior
Sophia Harvey placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:13.11, which is 10th-fastest in the Missouri Valley Conference this season.
Meanwhile, sophomore Carlota Salgado García qualified for the 100m hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.44 seconds, which is among the top-10 performances in the MVC this season. She also placed 25th in the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 3.5 inches (5.27m).
Belmont returns to competition with split squad action at the South Florida Invitational and the Crimson Tide Invitational this weekend, Friday and Saturday, April 11-12.
